Regional Liaison Officers Complete Advanced Maritime Analysis Workshop

Regional Liaison Officers have completed an advanced workshop focused on maritime information analysis, reporting standards and regional information-sharing procedures.

Regional Liaison Officers working with RMIFC have completed an advanced maritime analysis and information-sharing workshop designed to strengthen analytical capability across the regional network.

The training focused on the practical processes used to receive, validate, correlate, analyse and communicate maritime information.

Participants worked through exercises involving vessel movement analysis, incident reporting, information verification and preparation of concise maritime situation products.

Particular attention was given to ensuring that information exchanged through regional mechanisms is accurate, relevant and appropriately handled.

The workshop also reinforced the role of Liaison Officers as a connection between RMIFC and participating national authorities.

By maintaining regular communication with their respective national institutions, Liaison Officers help ensure that regional maritime information flows in both directions.

Capacity-building activities of this kind support the development of common working methods and strengthen professional relationships between analysts and liaison personnel from participating States.

RMIFC plans to continue providing practical training opportunities in areas such as maritime data analysis, information management, reporting, emerging technology and maritime threat awareness.
